Professor Howard R. Morris FRS
Chairman and CSO
Howard is the President, Chairman and CSO of BioPharmaSpec. He has over 45 years of research experience in the field of mass spectrometry, which has included a number of discoveries at the structure and method development levels.
Howard pioneered the development of numerous MS methods including the basic concept of mass spectrometric peptide mapping and the first MS glycoprotein strategies which led to efficient procedures for N- and O-linked oligosaccharide. His research is described in over 400 peer-reviewed publications generated from his research groups in Leeds, Cambridge and Imperial College London, where he is currently Professor Emeritus and Senior Research Investigator.
Howard founded the M-Scan group of companies in 1979 and acted as Chairman and CSO until their acquisition in 2010. He is the recipient of a number of prestigious awards including the 2010 Blaise Pascale Medal and Prize for Life Sciences and Medicine from the European Academy of Sciences, and the 2012 Institute of Physics Franklin Medal and Prize.
