Definition

De-novo sequencing refers to sequencing the amino-acid chain of a protein where there is no reference/ target sequence available. In protein chemistry there are two methods used to achieve the sequence of a novel protein- 1. Gas Phase (Edman) sequencing and 2. mass spectrometry using MS/MS methods. BPS provide both of these methods together with expert interpretation of data.
