DNA Replication
Definition
DNA replication is a preparatory step to cell division (mitosis) and is the process of producing an exact copy of the genetic information by complementary base-pairing (Adenine-Thymine and Guanine-Cytosine) from DNA to DNA. The enzymes involved are DNA polymerases and this takes place in the cytoplasm of prokaryotes or in the nucleus of eukaryotes.
