Intact Molecular Weight

Definition

The measure of intactness is an early-stage requirement of various regulatory guidelines. Intact molecular weight analysis will also assess products for cleavages within the protein backbone, which may not be easy to assess using peptide mapping data alone. Depending on your product, to obtain intact molecular data various experiments may need to be done, such as analysis following reduction, de-N-glycosylation or both reduction and de-N-glycosylation in a single experiment.
